Lédger® Live Recovery ™
Your 24-word recovery phrase is the master key to your assets. Lédger® Live Recovery allows you to restore your entire wallet onto a new device or reinstall the app without losing access. Always keep your phrase offline and secure.
How Lédger® Live Recovery works: When you set up a new Lédger device
or reinstall Lédger® Live, you’ll be prompted to either create a new wallet or
restore an existing one. Select "Restore from recovery phrase"
and enter your 24-word seed in the correct order. The app will then regenerate
all your accounts, balances, and transaction history from the blockchain.
Recovery is device-independent —
you can restore on any Lédger hardware or even temporarily on a software wallet
(though hardware is recommended for security). The process takes just a few minutes
and ensures you never lose access to your crypto, even if your device is lost,
stolen, or damaged.
Important best practices: Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
Lédger will never ask for it. Store it in a secure, fireproof location, and consider
using Lédger Recover® (optional paid service) for encrypted backup. Always verify
the first and last words when entering — typos can lead to a different wallet.
